Before Saturday's game against Swansea City, Mike Dodds spoke to the fans in his programme notes.

MD: "With 13 games remaining, we’re in a strong position to compete for a play-off place, and I believe in the players and what we’re doing."

With Saturday being a massive hit to these playoff hopes and now being 8 points off 6th placed Hull City with 12 games remaining, Can we push ourselves back into the contention for those final spots?

Reports in the Sunderland Echo and other morning papers are suggesting Alex Neil is "open" to a return to Wearside after the sacking of Michael Beale.

Neil began the previous season as the manager of Sunderland; however, his departure in August to Stoke City was met with controversy and derision from the Black Cat fans. This departure ultimately resulted in the appointment of Tony Mowbray. Stoke City concluded the campaign in 16th position, whereas Sunderland managed to secure a place in the play-offs.

Also reported today is that Scott Parker, a name synonymous with resilience and tactical acumen, both on and off the pitch, is among the rumoured managerial frontrunners.

With a managerial résumé that spans the highs of Premier League promotions to the lows of untimely exits, according to bnnbreaking.com, "Parker's potential appointment has stirred a wave of anticipation and scrutiny among the Black Cats' faithful."

How are you feeling after Saturday's performance? Leave it to Dodds until the end of the season or do we need change now?
